In 1984, Little Paris became the first Vietnamese restaurant to open in Chinatown. This small immigrant family owned business introduced the first Banh Mi, or Vietnamese Sandwich to the area. Located on Stockton Street and Washington, this establishment became an important anchor store for close to three decades. Recently, this site became the future location of the Central Subway Chinatown Station. Little Paris has been a part of the collective memories for many who grew up in Chinatown, from the Chinese school kids to the elders of this community. Little Paris is more than a sandwich shop; it is a place where memories are created.
